Subject: An appeal of participation at the “3rd Indian Student Parliament
– Inspiring Youth for Strengthening Democracy”, an annual 3 – day conclave
Greetings from MAEER’s MIT School of Government and Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad Foundation, Pune!I am inviting your kind attention to the third annual edition of 3 day National Conclave, 3rd Indian Students Parliament (3rd Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad), Pune, which is being held from January 10 to 12, 2013 at MAEER’s MIT Pune. This is a much awaited annual feature, attracting the intellectual giants, political leaders and engaging thinkers of myriad fields. The academic adventure of the conclave is not only enriching the perspectives of thousands of spirited youth, but also helping them to assume leadership roles by entering diverse spheres of public life. The upcoming conclave is set to be another intellectually invigorating and a nationally significant discourse (A brief on list of speakers and other details are available on website).
We are going through a revolution of rising expectations. Hopes are high but often not realized. This breeds cynicism. But cynicism and apathy cannot be the order of life of the youth. If the dream of a democracy, which is inclusive and representative of the face of a young and resurgent India, has to translate into a national movement, then people from all segments of society will have to work in synergy and with equal commitment. We will have to collectively create an environment so that committed, educated and spirited youth participate in democratic polity and contribute in evolving a healthy democratic system so that we can churn out leaders of great caliber, from among the common people, in all walks of life.
The success of any economic system depends ultimately on the mindset of people who make the crucial decisions of a nation's life. Clearly, democracy cannot be the agenda and prerogative of only few; rather it has to be inclusive and representative of all class and colours in true sense. Our Corporate society must be attuned to the expectations of Indian democracy. The first step towards this goal is informed participation. It is in this spirit we are making an opportunity of participation available for the Corporate to nominate their younger exponents to participate in this nationally relevant discourse. The bulk or individual registrations are welcome.
I am sure this adventure will not only help in reviving the grassroots democracy but will also tap the latent energy of youth and do away with their constraints that may have inhibited their action and expressions so far. Therefore, I appeal you to come forward and register for the upcoming conclave.
